Piccolo was living on the streets in Mexico when he was found and rescued by Compassion Without Borders (CWOB). As a senior dog, he ended up in the care of Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, and everyone there immediately fell in love with the little naked boy!
“I was in Muttville the day after Piccolo arrived in San Francisco,” Patty Stanton, who handles public relations at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, told The Dodo. “They called him Chester while he was with CWOB. Poor boy, he must have suffered a lot alone down there. He barely had any hair and his skin must have hurt, but he was sweet and seemed to know that we were all here to help him.”
No one knew how long Piccolo had been alone or how long he had been dealing with skin problems. Since he was already 10 years old, it seemed likely that his fur would never fully grow back. Luckily, a couple saw Piccolo’s profile and decided he would be the perfect addition to their family, naked or not.
Piccolo went from having nothing of his own to being welcomed into a family that pampered him with toys, soft blankets, and love. He may never be covered in fur like other dogs, but that’s okay, because his parents bought him an entire wardrobe of sweaters to make up for it.
Now, Piccolo walks around wearing his comfy sweaters everywhere. He loves to go on adventures literally anywhere, even to the vet, and his parents are so happy to help him spend his golden years in comfort and style.
“He spends hours by the heater, it’s his favorite place in the house, on many blankets, and he has discovered the joy of belly rubs,” Piccolo’s mother Tiffany told Muttville. “You would never guess how he spent his early years based on the spoiled little dog we have now!”
Piccolo went from living on the streets of Mexico to wearing sweaters by the heater in sunny California, and everyone who knows him is thrilled that he’s finally found love, happiness, and peace.
